Match Report: Middlesex won the toss and put Kent into bat.

After a shaky start by the Middlesex opening bowler, where the second over contained 9 wides, Kent kept the score board ticking over steadily, gaining maximum batting points. The Middlesex reply was strong and, when Kent were down to 10 men for a while after Charlotte Pape dislocated a finger and Deanna Cooper twisted her ankle, Middlesex made the most of the gaps in the field to get close to the target, but , with Deanna back on, and a catch from the sub, Middlesex ran out of batsmen. The last wicket stand of 39 came to an end with the home side 34 adrift with 3.3 overs to spare. Kent again take maximum points and are top of the table but merely due to alphabetical order with Sussex who match them point for point with one quarter of the season competed.

Kent U12 vs. Essex U12

Date: 11th.May Venue: Polo Farm
Result: Kent Won by 64 runs
Kent Score: 223 – 4 (40 overs)
Opposition Score: 159 – 8 (40 overs)
Top Performances:

Joe Gordon  118  n.o. : George Ealham 31 : Clark Dockwray  5-1-16-4 : Jack Gallagher  2 – 14 : Ben Mills   2 - 22

Match Report:

Kent lost the toss and were inserted on a very cold and windy afternoon.

Gordon and Goldsack took the game to Essex with an opening partnership of 56 in 10 overs. This rate was maintained throughout the innings with good support for Joe Gordon all the way through his fine innings. This was the first century for the U12’s for at least 7 years.

Mostly tight Kent bowling pinned their opponents back to only 29 from their first 10 overs and this effectively put Essex out of the run-chase.

Dockwray finished with highly creditable figures including three wickets in one over. Eleven players had a bowl.

The Kent team was :- Nicholls (Capt.), Ealham (V-Capt.), Houillon (Wk.) Copestake, Copp,

Dockwray, Gallagher, Goldsack, Gordon, Mills, Scrivens, Surguy
