The Kent Senior squads are once again looking to bolster the ranks ahead of the 2014 season. Squads run at three age groups, of Over 50s, over 60s and over 70s.

For those of you who read my Annual end of Term Reports no doubt you remember them verbatim and are no doubt disappointed with the similarity from year to year. However on the off chance that I might get a new reader this year's Report is somewhat different from the results point of view.

As we come up to the first birthday of our newsletter, we've given it a major face lift! Make sure you're on our mailing list so you don't miss out.

Do you remember the Ashes and ‘that incident’?  It sparked off another vigorous debate surrounding ‘The Spirit of Cricket’. The scene was the 3rd Day of the 2013 First Ashes Test match at Trent Bridge and the man in question was Stuart Broad who edged a ball from Ashton Agar and was caught by Michael Clarke at first slip. 

Following last week's report - we're now extremey pleased to also announce the Kent Over 60s B team are also National Champions!

More silverware for the Kent Trophy Cabinet as the 60+ team won the Spitfire National Championship with a hard fought win by 12 runs over Wales at Oakham on 18th September. 

The A team play Wales at Oakham CC on Wednesday 18th and the B team travel to Dunstable CC to play Yorkshire B on Tuesday 24th September.

Kent A and B Teams have reached their respective Spitfire County Championship Finals which is a wonderful achievement. However we need to go one step further.

Spitfire 60+ County Championship with the support of the England and Wales Cricket Board are promoting a 70+ test match series against the Australians who are sponsored by Cricket Australia
